Sponsors and Resources Help Overcome Challenges with Greater Access in America

Our sponsors and contributors are very important to us, because without them we would not have the support to keep our wheels turning. It was not until December 2004, beginning our sixth year of operation, when we began requesting an annual membership fee of twenty dollars. While hoping to continue a policy without membership, continued growth necessitating the need for continued newsletters and additional advocacy, it became inevitable due to the rise in cost of projects and ultimately eliminated educational materials from being copied by non-members off the web site by initiating a "Members Only" section, providing exclusive entrance with member's passwords. Contributions can and do come in various forms, including that of in-kind donations and any contribution is always appreciated. To learn more about our sponsors and resources posted on this page, click the photo, logo, or link to take you to their website.

Sponsors Help Promote Greater Access in America

Corporate Sponsor

Corporate Sponsors include business and individuals who have contributed excess of $5,000 or provided in-kind donations to support on-going programs of the organization for several years.

Julia Hollenbeck is the key founder of the organization and continues to advocate for safety and accessibility for persons with or without disabilities. Her challenge came unexpectedly and enveloped into one of the largest organizations supporting persons with or without disabilities and promotes the United States Military. Ms. Hollenbeck firmly believes safety plays a key role in disability awareness and prevents injury to persons without a disability. Her continued efforts to promote visibility, lecturing on a variety of subjects, and continuing her journey with travel and photography are indeed an inspiration to all members.

William Sheridan Dillow became involved with Wheel Me On in 1999, attended his first major event in conjunction with the organization in July 2000, assisted with incorporating the organization in November of the same year. He was a strong advocate and Board Director for the organization for many years and continues to advocate. When he attempted to resign from the organization, Board Directors protested and he consequently remained as an Advisor to the organization until early 2008. Mr. Dillow assisted with several caravans, computer technology and many travels promoting awareness about persons with disabilities and unity in society with persons without disabilites.

Greg Joyce was actually the fifth person who embraced the world of Wheel Me On during a happening in Houston, Texas, with the 10th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in year 2000, and then later became a leader for the organization in 2001 as a Board Director. He has served the National Board of Directors for the Paralyzed Veterans of America for many years and continues to serve this Veteran organization. Mr. Joyce is the Agent of Record for Wheel Me On... in the State of Texas and assists with advocacy and the Wheel Me On... Advisory Team.

Richard Castillo came into the fold during the time Ms. Hollenbeck was an Associate Member of the Texas Paralyzed Veterans Association, San Antonio Sub-Chapter late in the year 2000. A retired military veteran and professional with computer knowledge, he designed the Corporate logo which became a registered trademark for the organization within the next year. The logo became nationally and even internationally recognized over a period of a few years, but the amazing story of his design was making something happen by just a mere description of wanting both an eagle and the American flag. Mr. Castillo had limited movement due to quadraplegia and successfully created the logo with his computer. It would be impossible to place a dollar amount on the worth of this logo today. Mr. Castillo first met Julia Hollenbeck at NVWG 2000 in San Antonio, Texas, and later became a strong supporter of the organization.

Wheel Me On... was selected by the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation and their Board of Trustees as a grant recipient through their Worldwide Grant Program. The organization was awarded a $5,000 grant to support the 2003 Caravan for Disability Awareness. The MDRT Foundation is the premier association of financial professionals, created in 1959 to provide MDRT Foundation members with a means to give back to their communities. Their mission encourages members to get involved in their communities, and honored Ronald M. De Baets, CLU for nominating Wheel Me On... for this grant and helping make a difference.

David Thomas Killough is another individual who has served the organization since the inception. He served as an active Board Director for several years and was one of five Wheel Me On... members who joined the lawsuit, "Spector, et. al. Verses Norwegian Cruise Line", which was heard by the US Supreme Court Justices who ruled in favor of the ADA in 2005. Mr. Killough is a cancer survivor of many years and his greatest concern involves environmental safety and the prevention of hazards, ultimately providing safety concerns for persons with or without disabilities.

New Mobility played an important role with the Wheel Me On... Caravan for Disability Awareness 2001 with the distribution of their publication to hundreds of persons with or without disabilities during the caravan. The magazine continues to play an important role in our lives today and for the past several years, New Mobility has willingly provided their publication for attendees at our annual EXPO during the Caravan as well as several other annual programs. New Mobility is a leading publication for people who spend their time with their Life on Wheels featuring articles in no-nonsense, down-to-earth language, it is educational and interesting to read. Without a doubt, you will find your favorite column after your first review and look forward to their next issue.

Golden Eagle

The Golden Eagle is presented to individuals, businesses, or organizations who have served several years with outstanding services, donations, and continued advocacy for members of Wheel Me On, or provided a monumental service or benefit to persons with or without disabilities within the organization. The award is also presented in behalf of contibutions in the amount of $3,000 to $4,999.

David Musgraves is currently serving a full career with the United States Coast Guard and serves the organization as a Board Director. He is the son of Julia Hollenbeck and one of three of her children who assisted with getting her motivated on the Internet, successfully responsible for actually naming the organization in 1998 and encouraging Ms. Hollenbeck to move forward. Chief Musgraves would not allow words such as "I can't" and proved "could" with his preserverance promoting Historic Preservation programs for persons with disabilities. Within a few weeks, the birth of Military Pride unfolded and Historic Preservation continues with programs for tours of lighthouses, forts, and other monuments for the benefit of educational and the history behind the United States of America. Chief Musgraves' main concentration is on Military Pride.

SFC Dennis Musgraves (Retired) US Army was the actual inquirer who could not understand why his mother was not traveling, writing or doing her photography other than for her additional interests. The story simply unfolds from a family gathering and Ms. Hollenbeck's three sons "ganging up against" her. SFC Musgraves played an important role not only with getting Ms. Hollenbeck motivated with a web site, but proved she could travel by auto, airplane, and ship. During his career with the US Army, he shared a common interest with Historic Preservation and promoted her travels to military forts, museums, and bases. One of his greatest contributions to the organizations was his sponsorship for Historic Preservation during the annual program in the State of New York. He served 22-years before retiring from the United States Army on 31 December 2005. He is David Musgraves older brother and now resides in Alaska.

Steve Traylor became actively involved with Wheel Me On... during the celebration of the 12th Anniversary of the ADA in 2002 and later became a Board Director of the organization. There are numerous contributions Mr. Traylor made to Wheel Me On... and for continued advocacy of greater access. During the week of Caravan 2003 his hidden talents helped with props and decorations, while his wife, Geneva Traylor, provided additional outstanding talents that helped pull everything together. A few weeks after this caravan, Mr. Traylor helped oversee the reconstruction of the first accessible fishing pier in the City of Clarksville and in November 2002, Mr. Traylor became a Plaintiff for a Class Action lawsuit against the City of Clarksville. (Wheel Me On, et. al. VS. City of Clarksville) The irony of this is Mr. Traylor is a long-time resident of the City of Clarksville and in fact, was the very person who first introduced city officials and business leaders for the need of curb ramps in the city during the on-set of the ADA. Both Steve and Geneva Traylor continue to be active members with Wheel Me On... frequently offering their talent and time.

Silver Eagle

The Silver Eagle is presented to individuals, businesses, or organizations who have served several years with outstanding services, donations, and continued advocacy for members of Wheel Me On, or provided a monumental service or benefit to persons with or without disabilities within the organization. The award is also presented in behalf of contibutions from $1,500 to $2,999.

Bett Padgett has provided songs and music since 2004 for film productions by Wheel Me On... Her songs and music about Lighthouses, American History, Folklore, and Historic Preservation provide the necessary expression for our Military Pride and American History of our United States.
Ceilidhe's Music

Joe Turley brings encouragement in songs and music, touching hearts and souls with matching themes impressing minds while watching films produced by Wheel Me On... since 2005. Songs produced by Joe Turley seem to always bring "blessings, peace and love", and are remembered.
